Kaveri Seed Company has posted a net profit of ₹316.50 crore in the first quarter ended June 30, 2025, as against ₹282.91 crore in the same quarter previous year, showing a growth of 11.88 per cent.

During the quarter, the revenue from operations went up to ₹945.31 crore as against ₹808 crore, registering a growth of 17 per cent.

G V Bhaskar Rao, Chairman and Managing Director, attributed the good performance to increase in the acreage and high realisations in non-cotton segments like rice and maize. The company said its cotton sales were impacted by increased illegal cotton seeds.

“Increased volumes of non-cotton hybrids have resulted in good realisations, which have been well reflected in the overall revenue growth. The increase in contribution of new products to volumes of cotton will have a major impact in the quarters to come in our overall cotton revenue growth,” he said in a statement here on Friday.

He said rice, maize and vegetables segments continued to grow both in terms of acreages, revenues and realisations.

He said in spite of restrictions in hybrid rice sowing in Punjab, the company had delivered good growth in hybrid rice revenues.

During the quarter, the company reported a drop of 15 per cent in the volumes of cotton hybrid seeds and a corresponding decrease in revenues.
